I used to have to make more corrections to pieces scanned in under PM 2002 but, then, I could edit them much quicker than I can under PM 2004. While scanning sheet music is certainly improved in PM 2004 over PM 2002, I like the old entry system MUCH better. I don't know why they added new features without fixing the broken ones. Copying lyrics is mentioned in the index of the PM 2002 manual, too, but like the 2004 manual it's not actually discussed anywhere. The examples they gave didn't interest me but I assumed that if they were going to improve lyrics handling then surely they would have fixed the things that were broken in PM 2002. One of the main reasons I upgraded to PM 2004 was because they said they'd improved lyrics handling. Unfortunately I couldn't look at any of them since I'm not a registered Finale user (just a registered PrintMusic user). I tried displaying all plug-ins and then tried to look at ANY Windows plug-in that mentioned lyrics. A Mac-only one wouldn't help me since I'm running Windows XP. From the thread I couldn't tell if this plug-in was for Mac or Windows or both. Still I'd be glad to play with it if I could. I'm not sure that this would help me unless it could import lyrics, too. Thanks but I saw that, too, when I was searching the forums but I couldn't find anything else about the plug-in. Hp laserjet 2200d, Kensington Turbo Mouse It did show up when placed at the root level of the Plugins folder (and it worked fine) When I placed it in the Lyrics folder it did not show up! I had the same problem- after much hair pulling, copied the 2004 plugin BUT. NB Although I copied the plugin from 2004 (which should not be working), it seems to work fine in 2005. The plug-in was not working, and we will put it back The extract lyrics plug-in was not included in 2005 for Mac at the moment. I received an answer from techsupport today : ![]() There is talk about a plugin for Lyrics this what I found so far, I got to go have to be at rehearsal in 15. It seems pretty clear that the words are tied closely to the notes and that anything that blanks out a note will also blank out the word associated with it. It overlaid the music AND the lyrics, blanking the lyrics out. ![]() I was hoping that since the Tenor part didn't have lyrics that it would overlay the music but not overlay the lyrics. The last thing I tried was to copy the Alto part (with the lyrics) to a new piece and then I copied the Tenor part into the new piece and replaced the Alto part. I can use Mass Edit to copy the staves with the lyrics but that doesn't help since that overlays the music, too. I don't get anything when I try to grab just the lyrics. The problem is that Mass Edit won't just copy the lyrics or, at least, I can't get it to do that. What I would like to do is to enter the lyrics for, say, the Alto part and then to copy those to the Soprano, Tenor, and Bass parts. Then I have the final piece with all of the correct music for all of the staves but no lyrics. I edit the staves there and then use Mass Edit to copy the staves to my "final" piece (and, by the way, the scanning works much better in PM 2004 than it did in PM 2002). I have the sheet music which I scan using SmartScore Lite (which only imports the notes). Thanks but the lyrics (and only the lyrics) are what I'm trying to copy from staff to staff.
